Canada celebrated the International Year of Astronomy by issuing a 30 dollars silver coin.
The obverse shows a spiral galaxy, a comet on a blue colored central background. Around it four planets, Jupiter and Saturn are easily identifiable. On lower right an observatory is depicted. Legend above is: "CANADA".
The reverse shows the right facing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, also her name and title is mentioned in the legend, along with the face value and date 2009.
