One medal of a 5 pcs. set - issued for the great solar eclipse of 1999 - shows the portrait of the admiral Vasile Urseanu above the observatory building of Observatorul Astronomic Amiral Vasile Urseanu. The reverse show the clipse path over the map of Romania.. This medal designed by medalist Vasile Gabor.
The legend of the obverse is: "OBSERVATORUL ASTRONOMIC AMIRAL VASILE URSEANU", i. e. Admiral Vasile Urseanu Astronomical Observatory. The legend of the reverse: "ECLIPSA TOTALÁ DE SOARE", i. e. total solar eclipse.
