In 30th January 1868 a meteorite fall to Pultusk, Poland.

The 734.4 gram weight meteorite was found in 2006 and later in 2008 it was used to decorate each of the minted 2500 pieces of this commemorative coin. On the obverse the Earth is visible turning European continent towards us. The town Pultusk is marked on the map. In front of the Earth several incoming debris are displayed. The piece of the meteorite is attached to the biggest chunk. Legend is: "METEORITE FALL 1868", and date 2008.

The reverse follows the usual design of Cook Islands coins, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and the face value of the coin: "5 DOLLARS". The coin has a 38.61 mm diameter, 25 gram weight. It was made of partially palladium plated 925 fine silver with proof technique and was minted in 2500 pcs., according to its certificate.
